Wessel Nijman – One of the Netherlands’ Biggest Darting Talents

Wessel Nijman is one of the most exciting players of the new generation in professional darts. Born on 26 June 2000, the Dutchman attracted attention at a young age with strong performances and numerous successes at youth level. He has since established himself firmly on the PDC ProTour and is regarded as one of the rising players on the international darts scene.

His potential became clear early on. Nijman gained valuable experience at international youth events and won gold medals at WDF World and Europe Cups. He also developed into one of the most successful players of his generation on the PDC Development Tour.

Breakthrough on the PDC Tour

After returning to the PDC Development Tour, Wessel Nijman impressed in 2023 with several tournament victories and secured a PDC Tour Card. From 2024 onwards, he regularly competed against the best players in the world on the ProTour.

Nijman made his major breakthrough during his first full season on the PDC Tour. At Players Championship 24 in 2024, he won his first title on the PDC senior circuit. At the same time, he dominated the Development Tour and finished the 2024 season at the top of the Development Tour Order of Merit.

The Dutchman also began to make an impact on the bigger stages. Appearances at the PDC World Darts Championship, Grand Slam of Darts, World Matchplay and other major PDC events demonstrated that Nijman had successfully made the transition from promising youngster to established tour professional.

Wessel Nijman in 2026 – Established Among the World’s Best

The 2026 season marked another major step in his career. Nijman won several titles on the ProTour and claimed his first PDC European Tour title with victory at the European Darts Trophy 2026. This confirmed that he is capable of challenging for trophies not only at Players Championship events but also on the big stage in front of large crowds.

Thanks to his consistent results, Nijman continued to climb the PDC world rankings. His fast scoring, smooth throwing rhythm and ability to maintain high averages over longer tournaments make him a difficult opponent for any player on tour.

Which Darts Does Wessel Nijman Use?

Wessel Nijman is signed with Mission Darts and plays with his own Mission Wessel Nijman Signature Darts. His steel-tip darts are made from 95% tungsten and feature a relatively straight barrel with several radial grip zones. The player model is available in different weights, including 23 g, and is based on the setup Nijman uses on the PDC Tour.

The barrel offers a balanced level of grip without being overly aggressive. This makes the darts interesting not only for Wessel Nijman fans, but also for players who prefer a controlled and consistent grip across a large section of the barrel.

Mission Darts Combined with the Cosmo Flight/Shaft System

One distinctive feature of Wessel Nijman’s setup is the combination of products from different manufacturers. While he uses Mission Darts for his barrels, he relies on the Cosmo Flight/Shaft System at the rear of his setup.

The modular Cosmo system combines specially matched flights and shafts. The flights are fitted directly onto the compatible Cosmo shafts and, depending on the version used, can rotate freely. The system does not use a traditional flight slot and allows for a very consistent and easily reproducible setup.

Cosmo also offers dedicated Wessel Nijman Fit Flights. This means fans can combine his Mission player darts with his own Cosmo flight design to create a setup inspired by the Dutch professional.

A Player with Huge Potential

Within just a few years, Wessel Nijman has developed from a successful youth player into an established member of the international PDC elite. His performances since earning his Tour Card clearly demonstrate the potential he has at the highest level of the sport.

With Mission Darts as his dart supplier and the Cosmo Flight/Shaft System completing his setup, Nijman also uses an interesting combination of components from two established darts brands. Fans and players looking to recreate a similar setup can find the matching Wessel Nijman darts, flights and accessories here.
