Not everyone can or wants to mount a dartboard permanently on a wall. Especially in rented homes, hobby rooms or flexible dart areas, a dartboard stand can be an interesting alternative to traditional wall mounting.

A dartboard stand can also be interesting when it comes to sound insulation. With direct wall mounting, the vibrations caused when darts hit the board can be transferred into the wall as structure-borne sound and potentially into adjoining rooms.

With a freestanding dartboard, there is no direct rigid connection between the dartboard and the wall. This can reduce the transmission of structure-borne sound through the wall. The actual effect depends on the dartboard, stand, floor and overall setup.
