Jonny Clayton -  the Ferret

Welsh darts player Jonny Clayton, nicknamed ‘The Ferret’, is known for his late rise to the top of the world rankings and his successes in 2021, when he won four major TV titles. Before his full-time career as a professional darts player, he worked as a plasterer. Important career milestones 

Breakthrough in 2021: 2021 was Clayton's most successful year. In his debut year, he won the Premier League, the World Grand Prix, the Masters and the World Series of Darts Finals. 

World Cup of Darts: Together with Gerwyn Price, he won the World Cup of Darts title twice for Wales (2020 and 2023).

Late career start: Compared to many other players, Clayton started his professional darts career relatively late. He did not obtain his PDC Tour Card until he was 40 years old. 

Nickname: The Ferret
